As the official record keeper for the Boone County Commission, the County Clerk’s office is responsible for recording and preserving the most vital documents relating to the citizens of Boone County, many of which may be viewed at  https://www.boonecountyclerkwv.com/online-records/

The County Clerk’s responsibility is to ensure that all recorded documents are indexed and available for public use. Some of the documents kept in our office include:

  • Deeds, liens, births, marriages, deaths and judgments
  • Property bonds
  • County commission meeting minutes, orders, and transactions

In addition to document management, the Clerk’s office provides a variety of services to the citizens of Boone County.

  • Estates – probates all wills and appoints fiduciary commissioners for administering certain
    estates.
  • County Financial Processes – maintains payroll for all county employees, receives all accounts,
    pays county debts, and maintains the county’s financial statements.
  • Voting – handles voter registration, changes in party affiliation, and updates voter demographics.
  • The Clerk of the County Commission also functions as an election officer, preparing the ballot, conducting absentee voting, and performing other election-related duties, such as recruiting and training poll workers and counting ballots.
